Pro-government figures had signaled it: Will Erdoğan break his silence today?

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi wrote that President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will express his support for MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli at today's AKP group meeting.

"According to the information I have obtained, he will support Bahçeli. But there is no longer any need to wait for today," said Selvi, recalling the statement Erdoğan made yesterday: "We believe it would be more beneficial to evaluate the approaches recently put forward under the leadership of our People's Alliance partner without prejudice, in light of this broad background. This approach is a requirement of the ancient state wisdom and the wisdom filtered from the thousands of years of experience of our nation."

IS HE SUPPORTING THE PROCESS?

Selvi also noted the following:

"I believe that in today's group speech, Erdoğan will express his support with even stronger statements. But after these words from Erdoğan, the debate over whether the President was aware of it or not, or whether he supports the new process or not, will be left behind."
