Pro-government media announces Kılıçdaroğlu's presidential candidate

Debates continue on the political agenda following the "absolute nullity" ruling issued by the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention held in 2023.

While the current CHP leadership has signaled that it will resist the process following the ruling, former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has called for calm and unity in his statements.

While there is curiosity about how the new process within the party will take shape, a new claim circulating in Ankara's political circles has drawn attention.

CLAIM THAT HE WILL ANNOUNCE MANSUR YAVAŞ AS PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Speaking on the Taksim Meydanı program broadcast on TGRT Haber, journalist Fuat Uğur made notable assessments regarding the roadmap Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu would follow if he were to return to office.

Uğur suggested that Kılıçdaroğlu could announce Mansur Yavaş as his presidential candidate after reorganizing the party in the coming period.

Fuat Uğur stated, "I believe that after Kılıçdaroğlu gets the party back on track in the coming days, he will announce Mansur Yavaş as the presidential candidate. I have even heard rumors to this effect."

CLAIM THAT HE MAY CALL FOR A PARTY CONVENTION

Fuat Uğur, who argues that a new party convention process could be on the agenda for the CHP, also made assessments regarding a potential timeline.

Uğur suggested that the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration could call for a convention in the near future, while noting that the date of the convention could be set for a later period.

In his statement, he included the remarks: "He will make the decision for a convention within 1-2 months. He will set the date for November 2027."

MANSUR YAVAŞ'S MESSAGE OF "CALM" AND "CONGRESS"

Mansur Yavaş, who made a statement following the "absolute nullity" ruling, also gave notable messages regarding the process.

In his statement, Yavaş indicated that the tension within the party should not be escalated and pointed to the importance of the CHP making a decision for a congress of its own volition in the near future.

Mansur Yavaş used the following expressions in his statement:

"What needs to be done is not to escalate the tension, but to act with common sense and for the party to announce that it will make a decision for a congress within 1-2 months of its own volition and to manage the process within democratic traditions."

Yavaş also stated that the process must be overcome in unity and solidarity, adding, "None of us, including myself, can escape this responsibility."
