Protests grow in CHP! Harsh reaction to Melih Meriç at party headquarters: 'Where have you been for three days?'

As the debates triggered by the court's "absolute nullity" ruling within the Republican People's Party (CHP) continue, a new reaction has emerged from the party's grassroots.

CHP Gaziantep MP Melih Meriç faced protests from party members at the Gaziantep Provincial Headquarters. The slogans directed at Meriç, who was criticized for his silence during the process surrounding Kılıçdaroğlu's potential return to the chairmanship, drew attention.

During the protest at the party building, numerous party members reacted to Melih Meriç with chants of "Where have you been for three days?"

As the reactions intensified, Meriç was seen turning to the crowd and calling for them to "Listen." However, it was noted that the party members' reactions continued and tense moments occurred in the environment.

The protest was interpreted as a sign that the internal debates deepening within the CHP in recent days have also reflected on the party's organizational base.

CHP Gaziantep MP Melih Meriç had recently made headlines with his statement regarding the developments in front of the CHP Headquarters.

In his statement, Meriç had noted that the tension within the party was causing discomfort among the public.

HE HAD SAID, "IT DOES NOT BEFIT THE CULTURE OF DEMOCRACY"

Melih Meriç had used the following expressions in his statement:

"The scenes witnessed today in front of the Republican People's Party Headquarters do not befit either our party's deep-rooted history or its culture of democracy. The interventions involving the Ankara Police during the process concerning the Republican People's Party Headquarters, and the images that caused party members to confront one another, have created deep discomfort in the public conscience."
