Provincial Chair announces: CHP's new rally location revealed
The 109th of the Republican People's Party's "Defending the National Will" rallies will be held in Balıkesir on May 17.
The CHP is continuing its "Defending the National Will" rallies, which it launched to demand the release of presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held at Silivri Prison, and to call for early elections, in Balıkesir. Following the demonstration held in Rize last week, party members and citizens will gather this weekend at the Kuvayı Milliye Square in Balıkesir.
According to the statement made by the party, the rally will begin on Sunday, May 17, at 16:00, and CHP Chairman Özgür Özel will address the people of Balıkesir.
CHP Balıkesir Provincial Chair Erdan Köybaşı, in his call via social media, stated: "This gathering is not an ordinary rally. This gathering is the collective outcry of those whose voices are being silenced, those who are ignored, and those whose rights are being usurped. To those who want to speak out against silence, to those who want justice against injustice, to those who want to grow the light against the darkness. Come, be a part of this history. Come, defend your will. We will shout shoulder to shoulder: The national will cannot be taken captive."
CHP leader Özgür Özel's agenda is not limited to rallies. Özel will also attend the program to be held in Soma, Manisa, to commemorate the Soma Mine Disaster, which has entered its 12th year. Additionally, on Friday, May 15, he will lead the opening of various services and facilities carried out by the municipality in the Bayraklı, Bornova, Buca, and Karabağlar districts of İzmir.
Within the scope of Özel's program in İzmir, events such as the introduction of the Ferdi Zeyrek Bayraklı District Sports Complex and the new vehicle fleet, the opening of the Sarnıç Mescid-i Aksa Mosque, the commissioning of the Doğanlar Urban Garden, the collective opening of the Naim Süleymanoğlu Sporium Center, and the presentation of the Karabağlar Urban Design Project will take place.
