Confirming the transfer on his social media account, Çalık used the following expressions:

''I am being transferred to İzmir.

Being torn away from my family and loved ones is the stripping away of yet another one of my most fundamental human rights. While my health check-ups were being conducted regularly in Silivri, this decision, taken without any justification, is not conscientious.

But I know that I am not alone anywhere I go. Every region, every province, every district, and every village of Turkey is my homeland.

I will never, ever give up.'
