Reactions to the operation against İmamoğlu continue! Silence from the AKP
There has been no statement yet from the AKP regarding the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) operation, in which numerous people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, were detained. While reactions to the operation are mounting, President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has yet to make a statement.
The fact that there has been no statement yet from the AKP regarding the operation in which more than 100 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, were detained has not gone unnoticed. While reactions to the detentions are mounting across the country, especially in Istanbul, the agenda of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was focused on ambassadors.
Erdoğan accepted the credentials of the ambassadors of Panama, China, Malta, Tajikistan, and Senegal.
At the Presidential Palace, Erdoğan received, in order, Panama Ambassador Karina Arias Fonseca De Gianotti, China Ambassador Jiang Xuebin, Malta Ambassador Marisa Farrugia, Tajikistan Ambassador Sodiq Ashurboyzoda İmomi, and Senegal Ambassador Moustapha Sokhna Diop. During the reception, the ambassadors presented their credentials to Erdoğan.
Following this, the ambassadors and their delegations posed for a commemorative photo with President Erdoğan.
