Remarkable request from the court regarding the CHP convention lawsuit

A new development has occurred in the lawsuit filed for the annulment of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention held on November 4-5, 2023, and the 21st Extraordinary Convention held on April 6, 2025. The Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance has requested that the hearing scheduled for October 24 be held in a larger courtroom.

In the letter sent by the court to the Presidency of the Ankara Justice Commission, it was emphasized that the courtroom was insufficient during previous hearings due to the participation of party attorneys, a large number of lawyers, and members of the press. It was also noted that the attorneys for the parties had requested a larger courtroom due to this situation.

The letter included the following statements:

"Due to the small and insufficient size of our court's hearing room, it is requested that a large hearing room be designated in the Ankara Courthouse Annex Building No. 1 or the Ankara Central Courthouse and that our court be informed accordingly."

As is known, the inadequacy of the courtroom conditions in previous hearings had also drawn reactions from CHP figures and members of the press.
