Speaking during the live broadcast, Dikbayır stated that he would not have joined the Republican People's Party (CHP) if Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had remained as chairman. Expressing his trust in the current leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, he said that Özel was the person behind his motivation to join the party.
“Look, let me say it clearly; I would not have come if Kılıçdaroğlu were at the head of this party. I joined the CHP because I trust and believe in Özgür Özel; I trust his diligence, his intelligence, and his love for his country and nation. I do not see Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as the chairman. My elected chairman is Özgür Özel.”
