Remarkable statement from Vedat Işıkhan regarding CHP municipalities! 'Six of one, half a dozen of the other'

As the local elections approach, government ministers continue to support the AKP's election campaign.

Visiting the AKP's election coordination center in Keçiören, Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made a notable statement with only days left until the local elections.

Stating that all of the 5 municipalities with the highest debt to the Social Security Institution across Turkey are CHP-run municipalities, Işıkhan said, "The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, along with its companies, is the municipality with the highest debt to the SGK. In other words, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality cannot even pay its premium debts to the state. The debt, which was 200 million 5 years ago, has reached 4.5 billion today. The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality's premium debt has increased 20-fold in the last 5 years. The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has effectively raised the white flag of bankruptcy."

Reminding that these debts are primarily the insurance premium debts of their workers that municipalities are required to pay to the state, Minister Işıkhan added, "The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, and other CHP-run municipalities are in the same situation. Six of one, half a dozen of the other."
