In a statement on her social media account, Kocacık said:
“My dear fellow citizens of Adana, I have stepped down from my position as Adana Provincial Chair, which I carried out while considering the interests of our Adana and the Republic of Turkey, due to reasons I deem necessary.
I would like you to know that I carry the peace of mind of having fulfilled my duty with loyalty and fairness throughout my tenure as Chair. I would like to thank our Chair, Ms. Meral Akşener, who did not withhold her support from me during this process, and everyone who contributed.”
