Resignation earthquake in İYİ Party: 6 more people resign

Resignations have come one after another in the İYİ Party in Niğde. Following the resignation of Niğde Provincial Chair İbrahim Uzun, Niğde Central District Chair Selçuk Demir, and their board members, Niğde Municipality council members Cem Uzun, Ferit Aydoğan, Yunus Aybar, Duran Altıntaş, Vahit Akpınar, and İdris Türköz signed a joint statement announcing their resignation from the party. Consequently, there are no longer any İYİ Party council members remaining in the assembly.

"CRONYISM"

Making a statement on behalf of the group, Ferit Aydoğan said, “Despite all kinds of difficulties and obstacles, we have successfully carried out our duties as İYİ Party Municipal Council Members in Niğde at all stages since the last local elections. However, we have concluded that the policy pursued by the İYİ Party Headquarters does not align with the grassroots, and that the headquarters' demand for the Niğde provincial and district branch chairs and their boards to step down without providing a clear justification, as if conducting cronyism, is an anti-democratic stance. It is no longer possible for us to be a party to the lack of awareness that ignores the efforts of people who have worked day and night, braving all pressures, since before the establishment of this party, during its founding process, and afterwards. On the path we set out on to serve this city and the country, we are resigning from our party memberships to continue independently in order to defend the rights of the people of Niğde.”
