Resignation in the İYİ Party!
Hasan Mert Çakmak, an İYİ Party district official in Kayseri, announced that he has resigned from his party.
Resignations in the İYİ Party continue without slowing down. İYİ Party Kayseri district official Hasan Mert Çakmak announced that he has resigned from his party.
Çakmak's statements are as follows:
''DEPARTING FROM THE PRINCIPLES AND LINE OF THE İYİ PARTY...''
"In early 2018, the İYİ Party, which emerged as a new hope on the Turkish political scene, had attracted the attention of many citizens and political figures. As Hasan Mert Çakmak, I joined our party with the intention of being a part of this promising beginning and have held various positions since that day. However, today, I must state with regret that I have observed the İYİ Party departing from its principles and line, and facing problems of incompetence. For these reasons, I have decided to resign from the İYİ Party, which has lost its quality of being the hope of our nation. In its early days, the İYİ Party had set out with a management approach based on merit and the goal of overcoming polarization. However, over time, I have observed with sadness that these goals have been left behind and that different priorities, rather than merit, have become decisive in the party's management levels.
In the difficult process that Turkey is going through, there is a greater need than ever for a fair and inclusive political understanding that will keep our people's hope alive. With this thought, I am of the opinion that the İYİ Party is unfortunately moving further and further away from meeting these expectations. During my time in office, I made sincere efforts for the future of our party and our country. However, certain developments within the party and the problems of incompetence we encountered required me to make a serious revision in my thoughts. Seeing that the İYİ Party is tending to deviate from its initial founding philosophy and goals has been a deep disappointment for me. As a result, the main reason underlying my decision to take this step is the İYİ Party's distancing itself from its essence and the hope it carried for our nation. As a politician, I maintain my belief that my mission to serve our people must come before my own interests and those of our party. Therefore, this decision to separate is a reflection of my commitment to both my personal principles and the hope I hold for my country. In the coming period, I will continue to advocate for an inclusive and unifying political understanding that prioritizes merit and justice in line with the interests of Turkey and the Turkish Nation."
