Resignation shock in AKP: She announced her resignation with scathing remarks

AKP Milas District Chair Duygu Marçalı Doğru announced that she has resigned from her post along with the members of the board of directors.

Doğru, who has served in various levels of the party for approximately 10 years, said in a written statement, "I worked day and night with the consciousness of serving our nation. Our goal was always to protect the values of our cause, to provide the best service to our district in unity and solidarity, and to be worthy of the trust of our citizens."

'PEOPLE CONSUMED BY AMBITION FOR SEATS AND POSITIONS'

Doğru stated that she was subjected to baseless attacks by "people consumed by ambition for seats and positions" during the provincial presidency appointment process. Noting that her family, especially her son, was deeply affected during this period, Doğru said that she conveyed to the headquarters and the provincial presidency that her son needed her, and therefore she decided to step down from her post.

Doğru stated, "I left my son in his sickbed many times to go door-to-door for election campaigns. Together with my board members, women's and youth branch chairs, we are requesting to be relieved of our duties. We will submit our resignations to the headquarters." She also thanked all organization members, women's and youth branches, neighborhood heads, and her fellow citizens of Milas who supported her during this process.
