Resignations continue in MHP following the 'opening' process

In the new 'opening' process which the government calls 'Terror-Free Turkey', the terrorist organization PKK, at the call ofwith the callitpassedin recent days, held a symbolic ceremony in Sulaymaniyahand laid down their arms.

Following this development, voices of dissent have begun to rise within the MHP, a partner in the People's Alliance.

In Trabzon, MHP Araklı Municipal Council member Ahmet Kaplan, regarding the new opendue to the opening process, he announced his resignation from his party.Kaplan announced his decision on his social media accountthrougha statement he released.

AThestatement included the following expressions:

"Dear Turkish Nation,

I have made the decision to resign from the NationalistMovement Party, the party I have been honored and proud to servefor as long as I can remember.I have officially taken this decision."

This point that politics has reached iscontrary to the values of the Republic of Turkey,the cherished memories of our martyrs and veterans, and my own ideology and principles,andbecauseofthisclash, as a Turkish nationalist, I cannot be part of the MHP-AKP-DEM allianceof the path they have embarked upon, I will not walktogether.

"Because our path is sacred, it leads to the Tanrı Mountain."

Dear residents of Araklı, from this pointforward, in thisprocess, I will continue to serve our district as an independent councilmember to the best of my ability.

Respectfullywith my regards."
