Response from former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's lawyer to CHP Chairman Özel: "It takes courage to tell the truth"

Celal Çelik, the lawyer for former Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, has denied statements made by CHP leader Özgür Özel, who claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu had told Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu that "the party congress is spotless, no one can tarnish it."

In response to Çelik's remark that "an attitude that misleads the public with statements in need of verification is unbecoming," Özgür Özel stated that Ekrem İmamoğlu had sent him a note indicating that these words were indeed spoken by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

Celal Çelik responded to Özel on his social media account without naming him, using the following expressions:

“1-) In appointing a person who insulted our esteemed former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu as the Chairman of the High Disciplinary Board,

2-) In pardoning mayors and politicians who insult our esteemed Chairman at every opportunity instead of punishing them,

3-) In establishing troll gangs on social media to insult and curse our esteemed Chairman, and in motivating YouTubers and so-called academics,

4-) It is incomprehensible to see no problem in presenting words that were never said as if they were said, while seeing a problem in courageously stating the truth…

Our esteemed Chairman is a leader who engages in politics for rights and the people right in the middle of assassinations, lynchings, and death threats.

We are his students; we will not give up on telling the truth, we will not bow to threats, and we will not allow our party loyalty to be questioned…”

To the knowledge, attention, and conscience of the public;
