Response from IMM to Erdoğan: 'We have no SGK debt'
Following President Erdoğan's statement regarding municipal debts, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality announced that it has no tax or Social Security Institution (SGK) debt.
Following President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's statement that "municipal debts will be collected," Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan had announced that notifications had been sent to municipalities. Following this development, a statement was issued by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).
In the statement made by the IMM, it was stated that the municipality has no tax or SGK debt. The statement noted that the SGK debt of IMM companies is 2.4 billion TL, which is approximately 72.7 million dollars. Furthermore, it was emphasized that the SGK debt inherited in 2019 was 361 million TL, or 63.3 million dollars, and that despite an increase of 20 thousand in the number of personnel, the overdue debt has only increased by 9 million dollars.
