As the local elections approach, public opinion research companies continue their election polling efforts.

Most recently, Asal Research Company shared the results of its general election poll conducted in 26 provinces between January 21 and 29, 2024.

In the survey conducted with 2,000 people, participants were asked the question, "If an election were held this Sunday, who would you vote for?"

The AKP's vote share was 34.8 percent. While the CHP became the second party, the MHP took third place.

According to the results of the poll, the vote shares of the parties were as follows:

• AKP: 34.8 percent
• CHP: 23.2 percent
• MHP: 9.7 percent
• DEM Party: 9.4 percent
• İYİ Party: 8.5 percent
• New Welfare Party: 4.8 percent
• Victory Party: 3.7 percent
• TIP: 2.1 percent
• Homeland Party: 0.8 percent
• Other parties: 3.0 percent

On the other hand, in the same study, participants were also asked, "How have the economic developments, especially those in the last 2 years, affected you?" According to the survey, the vast majority of the public is in a worse situation following the economic developments.

The responses of the participants to the question "How have economic developments affected you?" are as follows:

• I am in a worse economic situation: 48.9%
• I could not support myself/my family: 23.6%
• I was not affected at all/I even made money: 8.2%
• I became unemployed: 5.1%
• Other: 7.7%
• No opinion: 6.5%

Another question asked in the survey was, "When you evaluate it in general, to what extent do you find the government's economic policies successful?"

The voters' evaluation regarding the government's policies is as follows:

• Unsuccessful: 62.8%
• Partially successful: 10.2%
• No answer: 8.5%
