Ruling in CHP Istanbul Congress case: Gürsel Tekin to continue as trustee

A notable development has occurred in the ongoing legal process concerning the Republican People's Party's (CHP) Istanbul organization. The latest hearing for the lawsuit, which was filed with the request that the president and management elected at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress be suspended from duty as a precautionary measure, was held today.

During the hearing at the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, requests regarding the annulment of the congress and the decisions taken during the congress were evaluated.

COURT RULES TO "ADDRESS DEFICIENCIES"

The court panel decided to adjourn the case to a later date, stating that the deficiencies in the file must be completed.

Accordingly, the hearing will be held again on July 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

ANNULMENT OF THE CONGRESS IS REQUESTED

The lawsuit demands the suspension of the provincial president and management elected at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress, as well as the annulment of the decisions taken at the congress.

It is noted that the decision to be made by the court within the scope of the process will directly affect the management structure of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Organization.
