Saadet Party announces its vote on Sweden's NATO membership
Saadet Party Antalya Deputy Şerafettin Kılıç announced that they will vote against the proposal regarding Sweden's accession to NATO, which is planned to be discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
Saadet Party Antalya Deputy Şerafettin Kılıç held a press conference at the Parliament.
Kılıç began his speech by conveying his best wishes regarding the earthquake that affected Kyrgyzstan, and stated that the bodies found on the shores of Antalya raise serious suspicions and that the matter is in need of explanation.
CALL FOR A COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION
Kılıç also stated that although the governor's office pointed to a sunken migrant boat, they do not find this explanation sufficient and argued that a comprehensive investigation process must be carried out.
"DO NOT SEND SHIPS, FILE A LAWSUIT"
Expressing that Israel has been raining bombs on Palestine for 70 years, massacring innocent civilians, and displacing them, Kılıç said, "We congratulate and thank the countries of South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Indonesia, which have ensured that Israel is tried in international courts by filing lawsuits. We call on the government to show the same stance; do not send ships to Israel, file a lawsuit."
"WE WILL VOTE AGAINST IT"
Claiming that the government will work to make Sweden, a supporter of Israel which carries out massacres, a NATO member, Kılıç said, "They will approve this membership as a requirement of an assigned task. But when you look at their words, the government talks tough against Sweden. Just as they talk tough against Israel while sending ships and sponsoring their companies."
When asked by a journalist how the Saadet Party will vote on the bill regarding Sweden's accession to NATO, which will be discussed in the TBMM General Assembly, Kılıç replied, "We will vote against it. It is that clear."
