Second statement from IYI Party regarding Akşener's visit to Erdoğan

It had been alleged that Akşener was offered the position of Vice President during the meeting.

Following these allegations, a statement was issued by the IYI Party, stating that "no offer for the Vice Presidency was made, and even if it had been, she would not have accepted it."

However, as these statements from the party were apparently not enough, a statement regarding Meral Akşener's meeting with Erdoğan also came from IYI Party Secretary General Uğur Poyraz.

Poyraz said, "This meeting does not in any way bind the purpose, goals, and vision of the IYI Party as a legal entity."

UĞUR POYRAZ: IT DOES NOT BIND OUR PARTY

Speaking about the meeting between Akşener and Erdoğan, IYI Party Secretary General Uğur Poyraz said, "This meeting does not in any way bind the purpose, goals, and vision of the IYI Party as a legal entity."

In his assessment of the meeting to Altan Sancar from PolitikYol, IYI Party Secretary General Uğur Poyraz pointed out that the Erdoğan-Akşener meeting was announced by the Directorate of Communications.

Evaluating this detail by saying, "this means that the parties wanted this meeting to be known by the public," Poyraz stated that the IYI Party also learned about the meeting from the press.

Stating that "it is necessary to explain who requested it, what was discussed, and what the purpose and result were," Poyraz said, "This meeting does not in any way bind the purpose, goals, and vision of the IYI Party as a legal entity."

Poyraz evaluated the meeting with the words, "The Chair of the IYI Party is Müsavat Dervişoğlu. I would like to express that not only were our Chair and our authorized bodies unaware of this meeting, the content of which is still unclear, but it also caused astonishment and disappointment for every party member who heard about it."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Former IYI Party Chair Meral Akşener met with AKP Chair and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace.

While the meeting became the number one item on the political agenda, the allegations raised after the summit also became a topic of discussion.

It was claimed that during the meeting, Akşener made a request to Erdoğan regarding her son. According to the allegations, Akşener conveyed her request to Erdoğan for her son, Fatih Akşener, to be appointed as the Ambassador to Paris.

Additionally, it was claimed that an offer was made for Akşener to become Vice President during the meeting.
