Second wave in IMM operation! 51 people in custody: Questioning has begun

Previously, on March 19, IMM President and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and many IMM executives were taken into custody and subsequently arrested on March 23 on charges including 'managing a criminal organization,' 'membership in a criminal organization,' 'extortion,' 'bribery,' 'qualified fraud,' 'unlawful acquisition of personal data,' and 'rigging a tender.'

Within the scope of the same investigation file, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued detention warrants for 53 more people on charges of 'corruption.'

In operations carried out in the morning hours in Istanbul, Ankara, and Tekirdağ, 47 people, including IMM bureaucrats, were taken into custody.

Meanwhile, as four more people were taken into custody during the day, the total number of detainees rose to 51.

GÖZDE ONGUN AND Can Akın ÇAĞLAR ALSO IN CUSTODY

Among those in custody are Gözde Ongun, the wife of the imprisoned IMM Medya AŞ Board Chairman Murat Ongun, and retired IMM Secretary General Can Akın Çağlar, who was previously detained and released during the March 19 operation.

Furthermore, Cevat Kaya, the brother of Ekrem İmamoğlu's wife Dilek İmamoğlu, is also among those detained.
