Signal for IMM candidacy from AKP figure! 'We've rolled up our sleeves'
Former Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Istanbul Deputy Murat Kurum, whose name is among those mentioned for the AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) candidacy, made a notable post on his social media account following AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's "Istanbul again" statement.
There is less than 4 months left until the March 31, 2024 local elections. While alliance discussions continue on the opposition front, the AKP aims to win back major cities, primarily Istanbul and Ankara, which it lost in 2019.
In this direction, it is awaited with curiosity which name the AKP will nominate in Istanbul.

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, upon the audience chanting "Istanbul is ours, it will remain ours" at his party's group meeting, stated, "Young people; do not forget, look, I am setting a headline today: Istanbul again."

Former Minister of Environment and Climate Change and AKP Istanbul Deputy Murat Kurum also supported Erdoğan's 'Istanbul again' remark. The phrase "We've rolled up our sleeves" in Kurum's post, which included Erdoğan's speech, did not go unnoticed.
