Silver smuggling accusation against AKP-affiliated media owner in Eskişehir

Gökhan Yıldırım, a local media owner in Eskişehir known for his proximity to the AKP, has been taken into custody on allegations of silver smuggling. Yıldırım is known as the concessionaire of Kanal 26 television and Milli İrade newspaper in Eskişehir. According to the details of the incident, Yıldırım was detained following a business trip to China organized by the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD).

DETAINED UPON RETURN FROM CHINA

Gökhan Yıldırım was taken into custody as soon as he returned to Turkey following his trip to China. The accusation against Yıldırım concerns silver smuggling. Within the framework of the investigation launched against him, the detention process for Yıldırım is ongoing.

Before being taken into custody, Yıldırım was visited on November 26 by Cevdet Yıldız, the Belgium Organization Officer and a prominent figure of the MÜSİAD Eskişehir Branch, and Branch President Oğuz Özdemir.
