Sırrı Süreyya Önder announces date for meeting with Selahattin Demirtaş

Following the call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli regarding Öcalan, Sırrı Süreyya Önder and Pervin Buldan from the DEM Party traveled to Imralı Prison. Having met with Öcalan, Önder and Buldan have initiated a series of meetings with political parties. Ahmet Türk, who has been appointed as a trustee for the third time, has also joined the DEM Party's Imralı delegation.

The Imralı delegation met with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel today (January 7) and subsequently met with DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan. Following the meeting, Sırrı Süreyya Önder announced that they would provide a detailed statement once the series of meetings is concluded.

Önder then answered questions from journalists. Önder confirmed that Ahmet Türk would also travel to Imralı Prison to meet with Öcalan.

Önder said, "There is nothing finalized at the moment. Ahmet Abi is in our delegation. He will also participate in the Imralı part. But we do not know when this will happen."

Önder gave the following response to the question of when they would meet with Selahattin Demirtaş, who is in Edirne Prison:

Before answering journalists' questions, Önder made the following statement:

"Our esteemed Chairman, our former Minister of Justice, and Sadullah Bey, who has contributed to past processes, as well as our other friends, had valuable warnings, suggestions, and questions. We have shared what has happened so far with great openness. This sharing of ours will continue in the same way throughout this process. Each of their suggestions and each of their reservations is worth gold to us.

Only by taking these into account can we create the broadest possible ground for social consensus in this country. This is one of the lessons we have learned from past processes. To seek this consensus in every segment of society, to reach every segment, and to generate consent from here. As I said, we will make a very comprehensive statement later. We are at the same point today as we were yesterday regarding our principle of conducting the process transparently. Once again, we thank both the esteemed Chairman and the valuable friends who are members of the delegation. And thank you for your efforts as well. With the visit to the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi), the political party part, the part that will be carried out in Parliament in a sense, will be finished. We will inform you afterwards."
