Sırrı Süreyya Önder on 'meeting with Erdoğan': 'It is not official, but...'

The new resolution process, which began with the call from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and continued with the call for the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan to lay down arms, remains on the agenda.

TBMM Deputy Speaker and DEM Party Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who is a member of the DEM Party's Imralı delegation that has met with the terrorist leader Öcalan three times, made statements regarding the process during a live broadcast on Habertürk.

Responding to a question, Önder stated that the DEM Party's Imralı delegation could hold a meeting with AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, noting the following:

"As far as we know, there is no distance. Again, it is not an official thing, but I think that in the coming period, there will perhaps be a meeting in the sense of a face-to-face evaluation, listening to his views, conveying our suggestions, and sharing the ongoing process."

Stating, "When Bahçeli called me, he said we would still be dancing the peace dance," Önder also explained how the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, responded to the call from MHP leader Bahçeli:

"Mr. Bahçeli said, 'Let Öcalan come to Parliament and speak.' Mr. Öcalan said, 'They are pressuring him a lot, let's not make his job difficult; I will not come to Parliament, you are there, I will speak from here.' Did he have a demand? No, and never! There are no conditions for this. There is no precondition or a condition afterward. I say this with all my honor."
