The name of Sırrı Süreyya Önder, the Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul MP who passed away on May 3, will be given to a street in the Çınar district of Diyarbakır.

During the May council meeting of the Çınar Municipality, a motion was submitted to rename Derman Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood after Sırrı Süreyya Önder, who passed away due to multiple organ failure after receiving treatment in intensive care for 18 days.

The motion was accepted unanimously. Following the completion of the official process, the name change will be implemented by hanging new signs on the street.
