Snap election rumors in politics: He announced the date the government will head to the polls
Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan claimed that the government aims to create a temporary economic relief in the market with new asset peace regulations. Arıkan alleged that at the end of this process, Turkey will be taken to a "snap election" in the autumn of 2026.
Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan made evaluations regarding the agenda during his appearance on Ulusal Kanal.
In his statements regarding Turkey's political and economic agenda, Arıkan argued that the government is preparing for an election. He claimed that the asset peace regulations expected to come to Parliament are an important part of this process.
"THE TREND POINTS TO A SNAP ELECTION"
Reminding that promises were made during the transition to the Presidential Government System that "early election debates would end," Arıkan stated that despite this, election debates continue in Turkey.
Expressing that there is a management crisis in the country, Arıkan stated that the opposition would not shy away from a possible election. Stating that the government constantly says there is no need for an election, Arıkan argued that when the "lens is magnified," the developments indicate a preparation for a "snap election" rather than an early election.
"HOT MONEY TARGETED WITH UNREGISTERED CAPITAL"
Arıkan claimed that with the regulation being prepared, it is planned to include money and gold coming from abroad into the system without questioning their source.
Stating that it is aimed to keep the assets to be brought to Turkey exempt from income tax for a long time within the scope of the regulation in question, Arıkan assessed that this would create a serious flow of hot money in the market.
Arıkan used the expression, "They are calculating that there will be an abundance of hot money in Turkey with the money coming from outside and that the country will be flooded with money."
DREW ATTENTION TO LARRY FINK'S VISIT
The Saadet Party leader claimed that the beginning of the process was Larry Fink's visit to Turkey.
Arguing that some steps accelerated after Fink's meeting with the President, Arıkan said that the demands of tradespeople, business people, and employees have not been met for years, but Fink's demands were brought to the Parliament's agenda in a short time.
He stated that it is aimed to provide temporary relief in the market with the prepared regulation.
"ECONOMIC DRESSING BEFORE THE ELECTION"
Arguing that the AK Party implements policies that provide temporary relief in the economy before election processes, Arıkan reminded that interest rates were lowered to the 8.5 percent level before the 2018 and 2023 elections.
Stating that interest rates rose to the 50 percent level after the elections, Arıkan said that inflation also rose to the 31-32 percent band and could not be lowered.
"NEW REGULATION RAISES QUESTION MARKS"
Mahmut Arıkan also reminded in his statements that miners had to protest for days to receive their salaries.
On the other hand, stating that they do not find it right to bring regulations to the TBMM agenda that he argues will pave the way for unregistered money entry, Arıkan claimed that there are existing rules regarding money entry from abroad, but it is planned to bypass these rules with the new regulation.
Stating that it is aimed for capital that did not come to Turkey in previous practices to enter the country with the new law, Arıkan noted that this creates question marks in the public eye.
"SNAP ELECTION IN THE AUTUMN OF 2026" CLAIM
The Saadet Party leader claimed that all these economic steps aim to create an artificial monetary relief in the market.
