Social media crisis in CHP following 'absolute nullity' ruling

Following the "absolute nullity" ruling that enabled Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's return to the CHP chairmanship, a change in authority over the party's communication channels has sparked controversy. Today, the administrative rights for the Facebook pages of the Afyonkarahisar and Aydın Provincial Branches were transferred to the headquarters. Both provincial branches announced via social media that they no longer control their pages and that any content posted should not be trusted.

The Afyonkarahisar Provincial Branch stated that the administrative rights to its official Facebook account had been revoked. It was emphasized that any content shared by the newly authorized individuals does not represent the provincial branch. The Aydın Provincial Branch issued a similar statement, noting that its Facebook account is now managed by the headquarters under Kılıçdaroğlu's leadership.

In the recent period, discussions had also emerged regarding the party changes of CHP mayors elected in Afyonkarahisar and Aydın. With Burcu Köksal's switch to the AKP, Afyonkarahisar, and with Özlem Çerçioğlu's joining the AKP, the Aydın Metropolitan Municipality had also passed to the AKP.
