Data regarding operations conducted during the tenure of former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has been revealed. The data shows that cases filed for the crime of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes" decreased by 32 percent in 2022 compared to 2021.

Former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu’s record in the fight against criminal organizations, when examined through the Ministry of Justice’s 2022 statistics, shows that while there was an increase in all cases filed regarding crimes handled in 2022, “cases filed for the crime of establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes” decreased by 32 percent compared to 2021.

According to the report by Masum Gök from 10Haber, in 2021, when Süleyman Soylu was the Minister of Interior, a total of 85 organized crime groups were targeted in operations within one year, according to a report prepared by the Department of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime.

In a statement made on December 6, 2022, Süleyman Soylu announced that 2,703 people had been detained and 840 people had been arrested in operations against organized crime groups during 2022. In the new term, with Ali Yerlikaya as the Minister of Interior, it was announced that 702 people have been arrested.
