Special session at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for April 23: Erdoğan will also attend

The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will convene with a special agenda on the occasion of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day, presided over by Speaker of the Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş. AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also attend the special session. The General Assembly's weekly agenda will include a legislative proposal containing regulations in the energy sector. Meanwhile, the İliç Mining Accident Research Commission will also meet for the second time.

Special session at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for April 23: Erdoğan will also attend

Special events at the Parliament will continue as part of the celebrations for the 104th anniversary of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

Speaker of the Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş will receive children from 28 countries on Monday, April 22.

On the same day, the General Assembly of the TBMM will convene for the "April 23 Children's Special Session." After Speaker of the Parliament Kurtulmuş opens the session, the Presidential Council will be handed over to a child speaker and child clerks who will preside over the session. Children will manage the General Assembly during this session.

The General Assembly will begin its weekly work with the special session to be held for the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

Speaker of the Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş will preside over the special agenda session.

During the April 23 special session, which will be held with the participation of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Kurtulmuş and representatives of political parties will deliver speeches. The celebrations will continue with a reception hosted by Speaker of the Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş.

On Thursday, April 25, a "Children's Summit" will be held in the Ceremony Hall, coordinated by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, with the participation of Numan Kurtulmuş.

WHICH TOPICS WILL BE DISCUSSED IN THE PARLIAMENT THIS WEEK?

The General Assembly of the TBMM will address a legislative proposal containing regulations in the energy sector during its weekly work.

According to the proposal, natural gas produced domestically and imported from different sources will be able to be liquefied in Turkey and marketed to world markets as LNG.

Projects prepared to increase energy efficiency will be supported by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources at a rate of up to 30 percent of their costs, provided they do not exceed 15 million liras.

Renewable energy production plants will be able to be established without the need for zoning plans in areas declared as renewable energy resource areas by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, including seas, dam lakes, artificial lakes, and natural lakes, excluding reservoirs and wetlands used for drinking and utility water, as well as coastal and shoreline strips covered by the Coastal Law.

In places where a state of emergency has been declared or which have been accepted as disaster areas affecting general life, temporary electricity energy demands will be met within the framework of determined procedures and principles to ensure that electricity services are provided without interruption.

COMMISSION AGENDAS

The TBMM İliç Mining Accident Research Commission will meet for the second time on Wednesday, April 24, under the chairmanship of AKP Antalya Deputy Atay Uslu. The commission will determine its work schedule and the institutions from which information will be obtained.

Additionally, the Human Rights Investigation Commission's Subcommittee on Children's Rights will meet on Thursday, April 25, to hold discussions with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality's 28th Term Children's Assembly.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the group meetings of the political parties with groups in the Parliament will be held.
