Statement from Mansur Yavaş after visiting Dilek İmamoğlu! 'We will be at Saraçhane this evening'

Detention warrants have been issued for 106 suspects, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. The detention orders cover individuals such as Murat Ongun, Tuncay Yılmaz, Fatih Keleş, Ertan Yıldız, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mahir Polat, and Reform Institute President Mehmet Ali Çalışkan.

SUPPORT VISIT TO DİLEK İMAMOĞLU

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who was abroad for a series of visits, returned to Turkey following the detention of Union of Municipalities of Turkey and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Speaking after the visit, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş stated, "It is not appropriate for Mr. Ekrem to be taken for questioning in such a rushed manner. If he had been summoned to testify, he would have gone himself."

Yavaş made the following remarks:

"We are supporting them as a family; all CHP members and the Turkish nation see what is happening. There is a politicized judiciary. We are waiting. The only place we can trust and take refuge in is the law.

What is sad is this: Mr. Ekrem has been summoned to testify before and he went. However, it is not appropriate for him to be taken away in such a rushed manner yesterday morning. I hope we will reach times when the law is valid. We will be at Saraçhane this evening. We will be there and continue our support.

We will set up the ballot boxes on Sunday; all of us, including myself, will go to the polls and show our reaction strongly."

After meeting with Dilek İmamoğlu, Mansur Yavaş headed to Saraçhane.

HOW DID HE RESPOND TO INVESTIGATION ALLEGATIONS?

Regarding allegations that an investigation would also be launched into him, Yavaş had responded, "There is nothing we fear, but if you look at these allegations, it seems to me that there is a possibility they might find some deviant person to say things against us. Otherwise, they should not talk on television; everyone has a family."
