Statement on the 'joint declaration' from CHP's Ali Mahir Başarır!

Following the terrorist attacks in which 12 of our soldiers were martyred in two days, the AKP, MHP, IYI Party, and Saadet Party signed a joint declaration in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

The joint declaration, which condemned the attacks of the terrorist organization, included the phrase, "Terror and violence will never reach their goal."

CHP PUBLISHED ITS OWN DECLARATION

The Republican People's Party (CHP), which did not sign the joint declaration, published its own statement.

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır made statements regarding the 'joint declaration' crisis at a press conference he held in the TBMM.

Stating, "We will not sign a joint statement with the AKP," Başarır's remarks are as follows;

"When the AKP came to power, that creature at the head of the separatist terrorist organization was in prison. Between 1999 and 2002, we had a total of 20 martyrs. Today, in 21 years, thousands of our children have been martyred. We no longer want to appear before the public with a joint signature in Parliament alongside the actions of this party, which has brought the country to this point, turned the country into a nest of terror, and eliminated border security.

Our third chairman threw the head of this terrorist organization into prison. It fell to Erdoğan to meet with him and conduct business in Imralı. That is why we are not signing. Enough is enough; we are tired of hearing the same story every time we head to an election. The issue of terror is a common one.

In Mersin, I have given my own life as a martyr. Who are you accusing? Is it too much to ask to receive information from a minister in this Parliament? While we have given 12 martyrs, the budget is being discussed. The CHP has expressed its reaction individually. The CHP is not obligated to unify its will on this sensitive issue or to sign a joint statement with the AKP's dirty politics. This homeland, this flag, and these martyrs belong to all of us.
