Striking comments from AKP officials regarding Özgür Özel's victory speech!

Achieving a historic success in the March 31 Local Elections, the Republican People's Party (CHP) became the leading party across Turkey for the first time in 47 years with a vote share of 37.77 percent.

Winning the majority in the municipal councils of Istanbul and Ankara, the CHP also won metropolitan municipalities such as Bursa, Balıkesir, Manisa, and Denizli. On the other hand, many cities such as Adıyaman, Kırıkkale, and Kastamonu also shifted to the CHP.

ÖZEL'S VICTORY SPEECH

On the night of March 31, while the vote count was ongoing, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel gave a speech that drew attention.

"There is no loser in this victory. Our success will not be anyone's defeat," said Özel, adding, "We do not see these results as a victory, but as a credit opened to us by the voters. We are aware that this support, which comes from all voter groups and fundamentally changes the flow of Turkish politics, places a great responsibility on our party. Those who look at us today should feel not arrogance but humility, not boasting but the virtue of being able to share success."

According to the report in Gazete Duvar; while AKP executives also found Özel's speech very balanced and positive, one party official made the assessment, "He gave a very good speech. Özgür Özel is advancing on the path to leadership."
