Striking question from Şamil Tayyar regarding Öcalan's call: General amnesty, constitutional amendment, right to hope...

In the process that began with the call of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and progressed with the contacts made by the DEM Party delegation with Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı, PKK leader Öcalan called on the organization to lay down its arms and dissolve itself.

Following this statement, former AKP deputy Şamil Tayyar asked a question drawing attention to the possible consequences of the process. Tayyar stated, "Does this call have an additional protocol? Will regulations such as a general amnesty, constitutional amendment, or the right to hope come to the agenda?"

Furthermore, emphasizing that the process should not lead to the PKK gaining ground on the path to statehood in Syria, Tayyar warned, "The process must not produce a 'state gift' for the PKK in Syria."

The primary element that matters here is what results this call will produce.

If the PKK dissolves itself and lays down its arms without being tied to any conditions, a historic turning point will be reached, all established norms will be shattered, and political paradigms will change.

Turkey as a whole will win.

However, the issue is not limited only to the liquidation of Qandil.

Because the dismantling of Qandil, which has reached the point of exhaustion, has passed its shelf life, and whose potential for action has approached zero, does not meet expectations on its own.

The fate of the PKK/YPG presence at its new headquarters in northeastern Syria is the most critical phase of the process.

The process must not produce a 'state gift' for the PKK in Syria.

On the other hand, it would be beneficial to inform the public whether there is an additional protocol to this call, and whether regulations such as a general amnesty, constitutional amendment, or the right to hope will come to the agenda.
