Striking results from 2 metropolitan polls in CHP: DEM Party detail draws attention
As the local elections approach, ORC Research Company conducted a public opinion poll for İzmir and Antalya, which are currently held by the CHP. In the survey, participants were asked, "Who would you like to see as the CHP's mayoral candidate?" Meanwhile, the company's statement highlighted a detail regarding the DEM Party in İzmir.
Turkey will head to the polls for local elections on March 31, 2024. While political parties are gradually announcing their mayoral candidates, polling companies continue their public opinion research.
Most recently, ORC Research shared the results of the election poll it conducted in İzmir and Antalya.
In the survey conducted for these 2 cities currently held by the CHP, participants were asked the question, "Who would you like to see as the CHP's mayoral candidate?"
ANTALYA
Three names stood out in the poll conducted in Antalya between December 19-23.
The Antalya results of the poll are as follows:
Ümit Uysal: 40.6 percent
Çetin Osman Budak: 29.1 percent
Muhittin Böcek: 24.2 percent
In its statement regarding the local election research in Antalya, the polling company noted, "It is observed that incumbent Mayor Muhittin Böcek maintains his votes in rural areas, but is experiencing a significant loss of votes from CHP and DEM Party voters in the central districts."
The vote shares received by the parties in the 2019 local elections in Antalya are as follows:
CHP: 50.62 percent
AKP: 46.27 percent
SAADET: 0.96 percent
DSP: 0.96 percent
DP: 0.57 percent
İZMİR
The three names that stand out in İzmir are as follows:
Tunç Soyer: 47.9 percent
Musa Çam: 17.2 percent
Tacettin Bayır: 14.1 percent
"TUNÇ SOYER DOMINATES THE CHP AND DEM PARTY BASE"
The statement made by the polling company regarding the İzmir local election poll is as follows:
"In the research, it is seen that Tunç Soyer completely dominates the CHP and DEM Party base. It has been observed that the reason there is no other prominent candidate besides Soyer stems from concerns about an imported candidate."
The vote shares of the parties in the 2019 local elections in İzmir are as follows:
CHP: 58.10 percent
AKP: 38.69 percent
SAADET: 1.3 percent.
