Striking statement from IYI Party's Cenk Özatıcı: 'A new state system is being imposed on Turkey'

IYI Party Deputy Chairman Cenk Özatıcı made striking statements regarding the ongoing debates about Turkey's future.

Özatıcı claimed that the fundamental structure of the Republic of Turkey is being targeted for change in the current process, and suggested that an attempt is being made to create a new state model.

"A MODEL BASED ON ETHNIC AND SECTARIAN REPRESENTATION IS BEING CREATED"

Noting in his statements that there is an intention to change the definition of citizenship, Özatıcı said the goal is for citizens to be represented not as citizens of the Republic of Turkey, but through their ethnic identities and sects.

Özatıcı alleged that an attempt is being made to establish a system where every ethnic identity and sect is represented through separate representatives.

"MONARCHY AND THE OTTOMAN MILLET SYSTEM"

Arguing that the structure President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan wants to create resembles a monarchical system, Özatıcı linked this model to the Ottoman millet system.

Özatıcı stated that this approach bears similarities to the systems applied in Lebanon and Afghanistan.

In his speech, evaluating the expressions used by President Erdoğan from time to time, Özatıcı stated that an understanding is being presented in which the Turkish nation is divided into "Turks, Kurds, and Arabs."

Özatıcı noted that this poses a risk to Turkey's unitary structure.

Highlights from Cenk Özatıcı's statements are as follows:

''There is a state system that Tayyip Erdoğan wants to create. The model of having one vice president be Kurdish and another be Alevi, and Tayyip Erdoğan's division of the Turkish nation into three by saying Turks, Kurds, and Arabs, is the Afghanistan model. Return to the monarchy expressed by Tom Barrack, who acts like a colonial governor.

Monarchy and the Ottoman millet system are also the Lebanon and Afghanistan models. There is something being attempted now. The representation of citizens. It is about the representation of citizens not being based on being a citizen of the Republic of Turkey, but being composed of their ethnic identity and sect, with a guardian appointed for every ethnic identity, every sect, and every representative group. For example, one person representing Sunnis, one person representing Alevis, one person representing Kurds, and all these representatives cooperating with Tayyip Erdoğan to establish a new state system. We are talking about this situation.

How will this happen? Tayyip Erdoğan is somewhere, at the top. With Devlet Bahçeli's MHP, which is subordinate to him, the DEM Party consolidated by Öcalan, and Kılıçdaroğlu's CHP, this is the project of a three-nation despotic regime, a regime of oppression, where the Turkish nation is taken out of circulation, the gains of the republic are liquidated, and the Turkish nation is divided into three as Turks, Kurds, and Arabs, which is currently being implemented."
