Striking statement from Özgür Özel: 'A trustee would last 6 days'

As the CHP moves step by step toward the extraordinary congress to be held on September 21, Chairman Özgür Özel made significant statements. Stating that if a trustee were to be appointed to the CHP on September 15, that trustee could only remain in office for 6 days, Özel emphasized that they would reaffirm the will of their party.

CHP PREPARES FOR EXTRAORDINARY CONGRESS

While all eyes within the party are turned to the 22nd Extraordinary Congress, which will convene on September 21, the agenda for the congress has also become clear. Following the application made with the signatures of over 900 delegates, a vote of confidence for the current administration and elections for the Chairmanship and the Party Assembly will be on the agenda.

Özel stated that the debates regarding court decisions on whether the congress will be held have ended, and that all processes are proceeding in harmony with the Supreme Election Council (YSK).

Emphasizing that if a trustee were to be appointed to the CHP, it would be a temporary solution, Özel said, "If a trustee is appointed, that trustee will only remain in office for 6 days. Because the party's chairman cannot stop this process. This process will be completed with the congress to be held on September 21."

THE STRATEGY BEHIND POLITICAL AND LEGAL MOVES

The CHP Chairman recalled that the extraordinary congress held last year in response to the threat of a trustee being appointed to the party was also a political move. This time, he said, the process is entirely a legal step, and the will of the delegates will be reaffirmed.

Özel stated that following the court decision on September 15, they would ensure the congress takes place by collecting the signatures of all the party's delegates.
