Striking statement from Sinan Ateş's wife, Ayşe Ateş! 'This is a political assassination'

More than 1.5 years have passed since the Sinan Ateş murder, yet its repercussions continue to be felt.

Speaking to İpek Özbey from Sözcü, Ayşe Ateş made striking statements.

Ateş explained, "Ever since he left his post, we have lived with systematic discrediting policies, threats, insults, and accusations of being FETÖ members or thieves by members and administrators of the Ülkü Ocakları. These were completely baseless slanders and threats, none of which have ever been proven, ever since he left his duty."

"IT HURT A LOT..."

Expressing her resentment, Ayşe Ateş said, "To call oneself a human being, to deem oneself worthy of that title, and yet remain silent on this matter, to know and say nothing, to act as if nothing happened... A person was murdered, Ms. İpek. It hurt a lot that they acted as if nothing had happened. But at the point I have reached now, I do not expect anything from anyone; I just want what is necessary to happen, for justice to be served."

Ayşe Ateş added, "I want to be able to tell my daughters, 'Your father's killer has been caught and is in prison.' I want my children to start sleeping without fear."

"I KNOW WHO THEY ARE, BUT..."

Ayşe Ateş continued her remarks as follows:

"I think everyone knows the killer. The honorable, honest judges, prosecutors, and police of this state will fulfill their duties; I do not expect anything from anyone else. I do not want anyone to take my side either. Let everyone fulfill their duty properly, let them be the ones to say it. I know who they are, but I cannot provide concrete evidence. There are institutions, people, and individuals who will bring this to light. Let them even find and reveal things I do not know."

POINTED TO SERDAR ÖKTEM

"Are we anxious? We are extremely anxious. This much silence, the fact that the indictment has not been issued for such a long time, raises the feeling of 'Will the evidence be covered up?' There is an allegation that Serdar Öktem met with a high-level official when he was taken to the hospital after falling ill. Of course, these things make us anxious when we hear them. Serdar Öktem is a key figure in this case. And for some reason, the password on his phone cannot be cracked, for some mysterious reason."

Calling on the President to resolve the case, Ayşe Ateş said, "I do not expect any response from the MHP, I do not expect anything at all.
