Successive resignations in the AKP: The number has reached 5 in 2 days!

Resignations are occurring one after another in the AKP. Another resignation news has come from Çanakkale. 

AKP Çanakkale Provincial Chair Ömer Faruk Göktürk announced that he has resigned from his post. Ömer Faruk Göktürk, who has been serving as the AKP Çanakkale Provincial Chair since September 2024, used the following expressions regarding his resignation statement:

"I believe that I should hand over my duty with the conviction that our party, which is moving with great stability both in the world and in its region in line with the direction drawn by our President and is advancing with firm steps towards the goal of the Century of Turkey, cannot afford the slightest gap," he stated. Regarding his resignation, Göktürk said: "Our AK Party, which has been the hope of the nation since the day it was founded and has always placed the national will at the center, has signed many important services and investments in Çanakkale, as it has throughout our country during its tenure in power. I have always been proud to be a soldier of this blessed movement that has left its mark on the last quarter-century of Turkey. I carry the honor and pride of having served as the Provincial Chair since September 2024 in our party, where I have served at various levels until today. Throughout my tenure as Provincial Chair, I have made every effort to carry the flag of our cause to higher levels under the leadership of our President and Chairman, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. However, due to both my father's health condition and the operations I need to undergo, I will have to be away from Çanakkale for a long time. I believe that I should hand over my duty with the conviction that our party, which is moving with great stability both in the world and in its region in line with the direction drawn by our President and is advancing with firm steps towards the goal of the Century of Turkey, cannot afford the slightest gap. For all these reasons, I sadly inform you that I have requested my release from duty from our Headquarters. I owe a debt of gratitude to our Chairman, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who trusted me and deemed me worthy of the Provincial Chairmanship, our Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş, who never withheld his support, our previous and current Headquarters Administrators, our MKYK member Fatih Şahin, our Deputy Ayhan Gider, all the organization members I fought shoulder to shoulder with, our women's and youth branches, our mayors, our deputies, and most importantly, my dear fellow citizens who have given their hearts to us. This is not a farewell; on the contrary, it is a new beginning of a journey where I will continue to serve in different fields as a soldier of this blessed cause."

NİĞDE PROVINCIAL CHAIR ALSO RESIGNED

AKP Niğde Provincial Chair Mustafa Özdemir also announced that he has left his post. In a written statement, Özdemir stated that the decision was taken in line with his own will and the knowledge of the Headquarters.

Chair Özdemir used the following expressions in his statement:

“I would like to share with you that I have left my post as AK Party Niğde Provincial Chair, which I have carried out with great honor and pride until today, in line with my own will and the knowledge of our Headquarters. From the first day I took on this duty, I considered it the greatest honor to serve our nation and our country in line with the vision of our party, under the leadership of our Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Throughout my tenure, we walked shoulder to shoulder with our organizations, came together with our citizens, listened to their problems, and made efforts to produce solutions. However, this is not a farewell. As a member of the AK Party family, I will continue to be at the service of my party and my cause. Because this is a relay race; I believe that the brothers who will take over the duty after me will continue our path with the same determination and resolve. I would like to thank every member of our organization and my precious fellow citizens of Niğde who did not withhold their support during this process. May God not let us be embarrassed before our nation, our cause, and our leader.”

THIRD RESIGNATION 

Adıyaman Provincial Chair Faruk Bülent Kablan announced on his social media account that he has resigned from his post in the party. In his statement, Kablan stated that he carried out his duty with a great sense of honor and responsibility and thanked President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Expressing that he will continue to maintain his loyalty to the party and President Erdoğan after his resignation, Kablan said, “Positions are temporary, duties are like a watch. What is permanent is the love for serving the nation that we carry in our hearts.”

In the AKP, Haluk Laçin had also resigned from the Muğla Provincial Chairmanship and Şerafettin Yıldırım from the Elazığ Provincial Chairmanship yesterday.
