Support for Ekrem İmamoğlu from Fatih Portakal! He addressed him as 'my friend'
Following developments regarding the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on 'corruption' charges and the rejection of a request for his arrest on 'terrorism' charges, journalist Fatih Portakal shared a message of support for İmamoğlu on social media. Portakal addressed İmamoğlu as "my friend" and said, "These days will surely pass."
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was detained in the morning hours of March 19, was arrested on 'corruption' charges. Following the decision, the prison where İmamoğlu will be taken was also determined. Within the scope of the ongoing 'corruption' and 'terrorism' investigations, 48 suspects were arrested, while 44 were released under judicial control conditions.

While many famous names called for support for İmamoğlu, one of the most notable came from Fatih Portakal. Addressing İmamoğlu as 'my friend', Portakal stated, "These days will surely pass."
Portakal shared the following message on his social media account:
"These days will also surely pass, my friend @ekrem_imamoglu, it will just take some time, that's all. Rights, law, and justice for everyone."
