AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan officially announced Kurum's candidacy at the Haliç Congress Center.

Immediately after Kurum's candidacy was officially announced, Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared a post on his social media account.

Writing the AKP's slogan, "Turkey knows, true municipalism is AK Party," Yerlikaya congratulated Murat Kurum and wished him success.

Yerlikaya's post is as follows;

The AK Party, the architect of social municipalism that has made the 'Work and Service' approach dominant throughout our country during the construction process of the Century of Turkey, will hopefully leave its mark on the local elections with the favor of our Noble Nation.
