Support visit to Zeyrek from Dilek İmamoğlu and Özel: Statement on health status released

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who suffered an electric shock while checking an electrical fault in his home pool, remains in critical condition. Zeyrek had been rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after being electrocuted in his pool.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Dilek İmamoğlu, wife of CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu—who is currently imprisoned in Silivri—made a statement in front of the hospital where Ferdi Zeyrek is receiving treatment.

"I BROUGHT GREETINGS FROM EKREM BEY"

Dilek İmamoğlu stated, "We are going through very difficult days. This holiday is truly a very difficult one for us. We came to visit our Mayor Ferdi. I brought Ekrem Bey's greetings and wishes for a speedy recovery. I brought the love and prayers of Istanbul. Our Mayor Ferdi is already a very beloved mayor; all the people of Manisa are keeping watch. I spoke with his wife just now; she is constantly praying. We are also sending our prayers to him. Hopefully, he will reunite with both the people of Manisa and us, and his family, as soon as possible. Our prayers are with him..."

"WE WITNESSED A PACT INSIDE"

Özgür Özel said, "It is such a coincidence that yesterday, one of the requested medications was found only in a pharmacy in Trabzon. Our Trabzon Provincial Chairman picked up the medicine this morning, flew to Istanbul, and they came here together. The medicine was delivered a short while ago. I suppose this is one of the most important signs showing that the heart of all of Turkey is here. Every day, a different greeting, a miracle, a medicine, a prayer from a completely different part of the country... Many of our mayors are here; they have visited. Dilek Hanım brought the best wishes of both the family and Ekrem İmamoğlu. The CHP is showing solidarity in full force with both Mayor Ferdi and the will of Manisa.

We witnessed a pact inside. Mayor Ferdi will get well, Mayor Ekrem will be free. They are going to have a meal together. They didn't count me in, so I made sure to include myself later. We hope that days will come when we can smile a little."

"TREATMENT CONTINUES IN INTENSIVE CARE"

A statement regarding the health status of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek was also released on his X account. The statement said, "Ferdi Zeyrek's treatment continues in intensive care."

The full statement is as follows:

"The treatment of our Metropolitan Mayor, Architect Ferdi Zeyrek, continues in intensive care at Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital with a team working on a 24-hour basis. Our Mayor's condition is also being monitored and consulted by physicians who are experts in their fields.

Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu stated in his announcement today: '36 hours have passed since the unfortunate accident. Mr. Ferdi Zeyrek had completed his 34th hour in intensive care. His treatment is in a very dynamic and fluctuating process. It is too early to say anything positive or negative. However, he is much better than when he first arrived at the hospital. For this reason, we kindly request that you do not rely on news and rumors circulating outside of official authorities.'

An investigation into the accident is being conducted by the prosecutor's office and the authorities.

We will continue to share developments regarding our Mayor's health status with the public. We extend our endless gratitude to all healthcare workers, especially Chief Physician Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu and our esteemed doctors, who have not left us alone at the hospital and have been by our Mayor's side with dedication since the first day, and to everyone who has not spared their prayers and support.

We maintain our deep belief that our Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek will regain his health as soon as possible and continue to work for the Manisa he loves more than his own life."
