Surprising statement from Süleyman Soylu: I am leaving politics

28th Term Istanbul Deputy and former Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu made statements at the Anatolian Broadcasters Federation. Stating that he has been serving as a deputy for three terms, Soylu said, "I have participated in parliamentary work, but I do not think such work is suitable for me and that I have been efficient. Therefore, I am bidding farewell to politics."

Furthermore, calling on the Republican People's Party (CHP), Soylu said, "The CHP should act as Deniz Baykal did and clear the way for Mr. Erdoğan. If Erdoğan is worn out and the economy is in a difficult situation, show courage, clear the way, and compete with Erdoğan."

SHOULD ERDOĞAN BE PRESIDENT AGAIN?

According to the report by Millet News Agency Editor-in-Chief Sinan Burhan, while comparing AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to historical leaders, Süleyman Soylu said, "Leaders like Erdoğan rarely come along. The two-term rule is wrong; Erdoğan's path should be cleared and a constitutional amendment should be made."

Soylu also touched upon the counter-terrorism process, emphasizing the influence of terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan over the organization. Stating, "If he is given a phone and a lawyer, he will dismantle the organization," Soylu expressed his belief that the process would be successful.

'I AM BIDDING FAREWELL TO POLITICS'
