Tanju Özcan's sharp response after his photo was thrown in the trash

Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan had been expelled from his party with a final expulsion penalty during the High Disciplinary Board meeting held on July 26, 2023.

With the doors to his return to the party closed, Tanju Özcan's photo at the CHP Bolu Provincial Headquarters was also taken down from the wall. Bolu Municipality CHP Council Member İlkay Bayrak threw the photo he took down from the wall into the trash in front of the party building.

Sharing the footage of his photo being thrown in the trash on his social media account, Tanju Özcan expressed his reaction to the events in a harsh manner. Interpreting the images as 'a field day for Kılıçdaroğlu's sycophants,' Özcan used the following expressions:

"It's a field day for Kılıçdaroğlu's sycophants. For them, the only success is the expulsion of Atatürkists like me from the party. Look Kılıçdaroğlu, I hope this has made you happy."

Making statements regarding the throwing of Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan's photo in the party building into the trash, CHP Bolu Central District Chair Çetin Uç said, "Tanju Özcan, who has served at every level of our party and was elected as a member of parliament for 4 terms and as mayor for 1 term from our party, is one of the names who has put in years of effort, even if he is not currently in our party. Furthermore, I would like to emphasize that the party logo is located next to Tanju Özcan's photo in the image that was thrown in the trash. It is unacceptable to throw an image containing our party's logo into the trash, and we absolutely do not approve of it."

"OUR PROVINCIAL CHAIR WILL IMPOSE THE NECESSARY SANCTIONS ON THIS MATTER"

CHP Bolu Central District Chair Çetin Uç said, "The video in the post made by one of our municipal council members on social media today was filmed during the term of the previous Central District Chair İsmail Hakkı Candemir, and I would like to state that, as myself and my administration, we absolutely do not accept such an action.
