The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is starting the new week with a busy schedule. On Tuesday, an 86-article omnibus bill will be discussed in the Parliamentary General Assembly.

On the other hand, the omnibus bill also includes a regulation that will provide a 5,000 lira additional payment to working retirees.

COMBATING EXORBITANT PRICES IN THE EARTHQUAKE ZONE

Debates on the proposal will begin in the Parliamentary General Assembly this week. With the proposal, penalties for those who engage in opportunism by charging exorbitant prices for construction materials and construction work in the earthquake zone will be increased tenfold.

With the regulation, the tax exemption on Currency-Protected Deposit (KKM) accounts will continue. The period for companies to restructure their debts will be extended for another 2 years.

The upper limit for the bonus distribution rate in games of chance will also be increased to 93 percent.

The regulation allowing working retirees to benefit from a one-time 5,000 lira additional payment is also included in the proposal.

Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Digital Channels Commission will hear from TikTok representatives at its meeting on December 7. The platform's controversial practices will be brought to the commission's agenda.

General chairmen of political parties will also hold their group meetings in Parliament.
