The claim stirring up CHP corridors: 'New party' scenario
In the shadow of the management crisis following the "absolute nullity" decision within the CHP, claims of a "new party" have emerged in party corridors. According to the claim, although Özgür Özel favors continuing the political struggle under the CHP umbrella, he is not completely ruling out potential new party formulas. It has been suggested that various scenarios are being evaluated within the party, both among local organizations and members of parliament.
As the process that began following the absolute nullity decision in the CHP continues, internal party debates persist, and rumors of a "new party" have begun to be discussed in the corridors. According to the claims, while the Özgür Özel administration continues preparations to take the party to an extraordinary congress, the developments have brought about different political pursuits.
It has been alleged that expulsion processes, disciplinary actions, and management appointments made to provincial organizations have led to different assessments among both members of parliament and party organizations.
It is claimed that some MPs argue that the prolongation of internal party debates could lead to ruptures in the CHP base, and therefore, a new political step must be taken in the short term.
According to the report by Sarp Sağkal from Cumhuriyet newspaper, it was stated that similar assessments are being made in provincial organizations. It was reported that some provincial chairs stated that they are keeping watch in party buildings against appointed administrations, but also expressed that both internal party tensions and social opposition activities are wearing down the organizations.
In contrast, it was noted that some organization managers stated that the party base does not look favorably upon the idea of leaving the CHP, and that there is a strong expectation for the struggle to be continued under the party's roof.
CLAIM THAT TWO DIFFERENT SCENARIOS ARE ON THE TABLE
According to claims discussed in party corridors, one of the scenarios being focused on involves the establishment of a new political party.
It is claimed that the Özgür Özel administration is evaluating both the option of establishing a new party and the possibility of cooperating with a political party that has the eligibility to enter elections according to Court of Cassation records. It is suggested that the plan involves the newly established party later merging with a political party that has the eligibility to enter elections.
