The dissolution process in the MHP has extended to the Ülkü Ocakları: President changed in that province
The wind of change that began in the provincial organizations of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has also spread to the Ülkü Ocakları. While the first change of duty took place in Kütahya, similar moves are expected to come to the agenda in other provinces soon.
While the dissolution of organizations within the MHP continues unabated, a similar process has begun in the Ülkü Ocakları.
The dissolution of the provincial presidencies in Istanbul, Kütahya, Eskişehir, Kars, Bilecik, Çanakkale, Muğla, Bolu, Bingöl, and Gaziantep was interpreted in MHP corridors as the "purging of cadres close to İzzet Ulvi Yönter."
As reported by Cumhuriyet, the process, which had been on hold in the Ülkü Ocakları for a long time, has shown its effect here following the changes in the provincial organizations. In party circles, it is stated that it is inevitable for Ülkü Ocakları administrators who worked closely with the dismissed provincial presidents to also leave their posts to new names.
In Kütahya, the first concrete step was taken at the Ülkü Ocakları Provincial Presidency, and the incumbent president, İlker Bükni, handed over his duty to Veli Özdemir. Bükni, who had been in this position for approximately 4.5 years and stated that he had served in various levels of the organization, said in his statement regarding the matter, "Observing the pleasure of Almighty Allah, we fought to carry the sacred banner, which is the legacy of our leader Alparslan Türkeş and the idealist martyrs, to higher levels."
Furthermore, emphasizing that the work carried out was a team effort, Bükni stated that the successes were the collective work of the organization, while any shortcomings belonged to him. Thanking the administrators, primarily Devlet Bahçeli and Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Ahmet Yiğit Yıldırım, Bükni wished the new president success and noted that his support for the organization would continue.
Following this development in Kütahya, eyes have turned to whether the change will spread to the Ülkü Ocakları in other provinces. According to assessments made in party lobbies, it is predicted that with the reflection of the renewal movement that started in the provincial organizations onto the Ülkü Ocakları, a comprehensive restructuring process within the party will gain momentum.
