The 'empty chair' controversy in the AKP: Seating arrangement for Erdoğan's CHP visit finalized!

Following the March 31 Local Elections, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had visited AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Making a statement after the meeting held at the AKP Headquarters, Erdoğan gave a message of a 'softening period' in politics and stated that he would pay a return visit to the CHP.

According to a report in Gazete Duvar; while no appointment request has yet been sent from the Presidency to the CHP, the visit is expected to take place in the first half of June. How Erdoğan will be hosted during his visit, which will be his first in 18 years, has been a subject of curiosity.

According to the information obtained, Erdoğan will be hosted in CHP Chairman Özel's office. No changes are planned to the seating arrangement in the office, which has been used in the same way since the tenure of former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, for Erdoğan's visit.

'EMPTY CHAIR' HAD SPARKED CONTROVERSY

President Erdoğan will be hosted in the CHP Chairman's office in the same manner as other political party leaders. The two leaders will sit in single armchairs positioned at the same level. If there are any accompanying officials, they will take their places on the sofas on either side of the single armchairs. Thus, the 'empty chair' image that caused controversy during the meeting at the AKP Headquarters will be avoided.
