The reason why the CHP does not want an early election has been revealed!

Following the Republican People's Party's (CHP) victory in the March 31 Local Elections, debates regarding an early election have come to the public agenda.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who was expected to call for an early election, had stated, "As the leader of the main opposition, I am committed to the promise I made during the election, and I have no call for an early election. I do not interpret the results of the March 31 elections in that way. But if mistakes continue to be made tomorrow and the nation demands an early election, I will be the person who wants an early election the most."

Speaking to Gazete Duvar, a CHP official said they are ambitious for the next general election.

They explained the reason for not making an early election demand as follows:

"Two elections took place back-to-back. Both the public and politicians are tired. The voters have given credit to both the government and the opposition. Both sides have to work for a while in line with the responsibilities given to them. As the CHP, we are very ambitious for the upcoming election. But time is needed for preparations. We have to use this process to train the cadres who will govern Turkey and to create success stories in the municipalities. That is why we will not even mention the 'E' of early election for a while."
