Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici and Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ are engaged in an escalating debate on social media regarding "Turkishness and nationalism."

Mustafa Destici responded to Ümit Özdağ, who claimed that "the BBP is not a nationalist party." Destici questioned whether Ümit Özdağ is "even Turkish" and alleged that Özdağ is not a nationalist.

Destici stated, "Özdağ is not a nationalist. Let alone being a nationalist, he is not even Turkish. Where he comes from is not very clear or certain. It is not for a person whose own Turkishness is debatable to say such things about us." he used the expressions.
